nicky hallett

(United Kingdom)
I write (plays, poetry and prose – fiction and non-fiction). My work had appeared in anthologies, books, magazines, and in performance, some of it in collaboration with a composer.

I’m inspired by lives (especially those that are forgotten or deliberately obscured), by history, by walking, mainly in South Yorkshire and the Peak District. Sometimes I walk alone, mostly with friends. We explore ancient landscapes. Our writing group is following a river from its source, seasonally across a year, stopping along the way to listen and to make collective streams of words: sound poems, other pieces that we share.
