The project measures post-9/11 fear in public spaces by counting breaths along Boston’s 2006 emergency evacuation routes. In 2007, the Catherine D’Ignazio ran the full system, archiving tens of thousands of breaths in a podcast and sculptural installation.

Cistêmâw iyiniw ohci is a performance by Cheryl L’Hirondelle in which she ran 25 km across the Makwa Sahgaiehcan reserve, retracing a Cree runner’s historical route. The act honors Indigenous mobility, memory, and communication through community‑engaged performance.
