On June 13th 2024 it is Outdoor Office Day! Join Nadia von Holzen (LinkedIn) from Learning Moments and Mirjam Leunissen (LinkedIn) for a 2-hour in-person Street Wisdom Walkshop in Amsterdam that will fuel creativity and connection. Meeting at Fredriksplein at the fountain (tram 4 from Amsterdam Central Station to Prinsengracht). The walk starts at 3:00 pm and finishes at 5:00 pm CEST.
Street Wisdom is an everyday creative practice you use as you walk. A smart fusion of mindfulness, neuroscience, imagination and wellness, it unlocks our minds and unblocks our creativity with every step. The perfect complement to static meditation, Street Wisdom takes us on a physical journey that not only calms and clears the mind, but opens up the subconscious to new ideas. Not to mention the health benefits of walking outdoors. All without having to travel to exotic climes or retreats. Suddenly, every street is full of inspiration. And whatever our questions, we are finding answers are everywhere.

plodge

The Scottish and English word plodging has been wading through the lexical muck and mire since the late 1700s, and it refers to icky, slow, molasses-type walking. Plodge is probably a variation of plod. This word isn’t totally out of use, as a 1995 use from British magazine The Countryman illustrates: “Northbound Pennine Wayfarers, plodging through the interminable peat-bogs of the North Pennines.” Even if you have a spring in your step, it’s tough to skip merrily through the peat-bogs.
