Kim V. Goldsmith
I'm an Australian-based interdisciplinary artist whose creative output uses sound, video, and writing to explore layers of nuance and complexity within the rural and regional territories in which I work. I'm listening for new voices and perspectives, human and more-than-human, seeking those hidden elements that make a place vibrate. Through ongoing study, observation, and field recordings, I aim to create bodies of work that may present environments in a way new to even those who know them well, teasing out narratives of connection and giving a voice to the voiceless. My works are presented in exhibitions, festivals, and online platforms.
I worked in print and radio journalism from the late 1980s through to the mid-1990s. Since the late 1990s, I've worked in issues-based communications, storytelling and content production across regional New South Wales. My experience and knowledge of rural, regional and remote Australia underpins my creative practice.
