Natalie Bamford

Walking Researcher interested in understandings of place.
Natalie is a walking researcher who, for her PhD thesis, has developed a new method to access embodied knowledge of place titled Direct Me.

Direct Me takes inspiration from artistic walking prompts and hermeneutic phenomenology to provide a method that allows the researcher to walk in citizens' shoes and in doing so unconceal new knowledge of place.

Natalie continues to explore the relationship between walking and understanding place through workshops, walkshops, and the dissemination of her method.
