My photographic practice tends to focus on typologies and the repetition of form and motif. Collecting together images of my immediate environment, these are my personal landscapes. Fascinated by the minutiae of objects, the murmur of the mundane, or the intrigue of the strange. A series can be years in the making. I’m inspired by photographers who see landscapes—whether the natural or built environment—as both vast and minute, but most often are void of people. In my illustrative practice, I work primarily with acrylic paint markers. I draw colourful, bright illustrations; I am inspired by all things nature. Whether that is the bucolic Yorkshire countryside, bugs and beetles from across the world, or fabulous houseplants in marvellous pots.
