Walk Around Philadelphia – Chestnut Hill

The September 12 segments set out from Chestnut Hill East

Over ten days of ~10 mile walks, the September 2022 Walk Around Philadelphia will send small groups to explore the city’s perimeter on foot, followed by a special in-person celebration on Saturday October 1.

The September 12 segments will set out from the Chestnut Hill East regional rail station.

You are invited to join for a half day, whole day, or multiple segments.

You can also join the virtual launch event (Sept 8) or in-person closing celebration at Cherry Street Pier (Oct 1).

oversupinate

People who jog, run, and sprint have their share of problems that slow-moving people can barely comprehend. One is oversupination. As the OED defines it, to oversupinate is “To run or walk so that the weight falls upon the outer sides of the feet to a greater extent than is necessary, desirable, etc.” A 1990 Runner’s World article gets to the crux of the problem: “It’s hard to ascertain exactly what percentage of the running population oversupinates, but it’s a fraction of the people who think they do.” Credits to Mark Peters.
