From 4 to 11 July 2021 the first edition of the L’HUB SARDINIA – Caminu a Su Connottu will be held in Nurri.
The SARDINIA HUB would like to bring the attention on how walking can highlight / intervene on political, personal, social, economic and ecological issues that affect some rural areas of Sardinia.
The new IVYnode project would like to garrison on the territory through the practice of walking, to keep alive the interest in the threat of building a radioactive waste deposit in the rural areas of Sardinia.
On July 5, 22 Sardinian municipalities will have to send their opinions for the National Public Consultation.
On the eve of this date there will be a walk that will delimit the perimeter of almost 8 km of the Nurrese area, with the Performance Site Specific “Fragile” by Thomas Keis and Ivana Pinna and the final intervention of the Committee SarxSar No Scorie / Sarcidano for Sardinia. The walk will last about 1 hour and will give a proportion of the vastness of the area and what it can mean to compromise and deprive oneself of a territory that risks becoming off limit.
During the week there will be workshops, book presentations, performances and walks, to create moments of awareness of environmental issues on the care of the territory. By walking, we would like to recall “Su Connottu”, the Known (in sardinia language), which would like to go back to an ancient past, rediscovering nature and the landscape, which is also threatened by a series of interventions that compromise its beauty and integrity.
The project does not have any public funding, it is based on the will of intent of its collaborators and on the generosity of those who believe in the initiative and want to make a donation.
