To Walk is a poster project by Richard Wentworth featuring his characteristically anonymous photographs of places in England, distributed in towns such as Charleston, Ramsgate, and Rochester as an invitation for the public to walk and re-engage with their urban and rural surroundings.
Between Campuses
This walk is a 25 km walk between Braga and Guimarães, connecting university campuses. It reclaims walking as a daily practice, heightening awareness of the landscape. Beyond individual experience, it fosters connections, blending spiritual and physical challenges, where distance, proximity, and transformation emerge through movement and shared encounters.

Land Mark (Foot Prints)
Land Mark (Foot Prints) documents activist collaborations in Vieques, where altered shoe soles stamped protest slogans onto former military land. The photographs capture fragile, temporary marks of dissent that question land use, power, and reclamation through everyday actions.
And While London Burns
And While London Burns is a downloadable opera-for-one guiding listeners through London’s financial district, exploring climate change. With music and choral work by Isa Suarez and narration by Douglas Hodge, it blends thriller, opera, and immersive soundscape.
Walk 2
Walk 2 (Margate, 2010) had 200 participants walk in silence atop the Marine Bathing Pool wall, maintaining one-metre spacing. Exposed to wind and cold, the walk demanded focus and discipline, fostering a meditative, trance-like awareness of body, rhythm, and environment.
Harker Herald
In 2008, Mike Collier created a billboard for Waygood Studios, Newcastle, using Northumbrian bird names he observed on walks in the Coquet Valley. The work, shown alongside a small gallery installation, links local language, landscape, and walking practice.
