Meet Henna and Michael from the Gesso team at 15 Centre Street for a self-guided mobile audio walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. A birthday toast to follow in Brooklyn Bridge Park for Emily Warren Roebling, the female chief engineer who completed the bridge and was born this month.
Now an iconic feature of the New York City skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge was once thought of as impossible- a fool’s errand. The men who built it- and the woman who spurred it along- were hailed as heroes across the country. Join us as we retrace their steps, commune with the beyond, attend a post-Prohibition soiree beneath the roadway, and walk 200 feet above water.
Practical Grandeur was written and produced by Rebecca Chaisson.
