Join Canberra interdisciplinary artist Dr Tracey Benson on a locative media walkshop around the Australian National Botanic Gardens. This walk is in conjunction with Tracey’s exhibition at the ANBG Visitor Centre Gallery and focuses on walking and connecting to the trees at the Gardens.

Talking with Trees exhibition explores the importance of connecting to green spaces through the rich variety of plants at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. By focusing on the rich history of the ANBG’s plants collection and the relationship between connecting to nature and wellbeing, the artist seeks to highlight the role of the ANBG as a place of reflection and discovery. The project coincides with Canberra’s Tree Week and will also be featured as part of the international Urban Tree Festival based in the UK.

Bring your smartphone or tablet to make an ‘art response’ by taking some photos or an audio recording or pencil and paper for drawing or tree rubbings. Participants are also invited to include their contribution on an online map about the project.

Meet at the Visitor Centre Gallery before embarking on the walkshop.
