Walking piece details

‘Drift’ is a one hour long sound choreography, composed for large public space, and performed with 15 local performers. Originally comissioned by Prague Quadriennale, the first performance was shown at the Prague Exhibition Grounds Plaza.

In ‘Drift’ more then a dozen performers are following “invisible pathways” on a large public square and its close surroundings. On these pathways the performers are carrying around portable speakers from which the site-specifically composed score of the piece is creating a unique moving soundscape.

These layers of interaction between performers and passersby creates a playful, intense presence at the site it is performed at and offer an opportunity for the audience to reflect on their feelings and behavior in public spaces. In the same time the constantly moving surround composition and the emerging organic choreography are creating a hypnotizing and unique audio-visual performance experience for the observers.

Bridging History

The Bridging History series tells the tale of the colonisation and settlement of Dubbo, on Wiradjuri Country in Central West NSW Australia, through built infrastructure that changed the Wambuul Macquarie River forever. The bridges cross water and land with a much older story to tell. Today, you can cross all three bridge sites by walking, running or cycling the Tracker Riley Cycleway that loops around the river.
